help creating sitemap.xml
I have a personal site that shows up when you search for it in google, but it only shows my website, and not links
as an example, I want similar to IGN.
a google search for IGN, shows the page URL, and underneath, a bunch of links
Code:IGN IGN is your site for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PC, 3DS, PSP & iPhone games with expert reviews, news, previews, trailers, cheat codes, strategy guides ... ign. com/ - Cached - Similar Xbox 360 PS3 PC Wii IGN - Movies IGN DS PSP Upcoming Games
Code:mysite. com text straight from website.
blog photo_page
any idea how to do that?
thanks0

Sitemap will not help you to get the result that you want. You will have to create an account in Google webmaster tool. There is an option "Sitelinks" in "Site configuration" setting. you can set it. However it depends completely on Google that it shows sitelinks in your site's search result or not. Whenever Google found that any website's sitelink are useful for visitors then it shows results just like of IGN's result.

great. you gave me the name 'sitelinks' so I knew what to search for.
unfortunately, it seems that sitelinks are done automatically by google, and you can't manipulate them.0

Yea, you are not the one that can set that for google. The more relevant that your site becomes the more likely that you are to get those. If you notice the sites that have those are pretty powerful sites. Just keep working on content and making your site strong. It is not something that will happen over night, it takes years.

That's true. Only the good sites get sitelinks in the search results. But I think you can improve how it looks in the search results by writing a good informative description in the meta description tag. With that it will improve the likelihood of your site to get clicked by people.
