reports: Destination net unreachable.
when we do tracert domain or ip,
it may shows with the nodes from our local to server,
i find when i check some host,
it may end with " reports: Destination net unreachable."
is it possible to do it from server aside ?
ps. my server is centos.
Do you mean you cannot trace your server from your PC ? if so this could be a routing issue with your ISP. or on the server you have blocked that IP.
You can double check this by using an external Website to see if its the same on the intenet (something like alertra.com)
Hi,no,i just hope i can use the same way as it does,i hope when people tracert my server, they will get response/result as it shows(reports: Destination net unreachable.),but my server is still work and accessable,i just think it may decrease the possibility for scan and hacked.thanx
Not sure what your posting here for then... or are you just saying your blocking icmp ? its a good tactic, but beefing up security and restricting access are far better methods to prevent hacking.
Also making sure any scripts are upto date to prevent exploits.
