Thread: Fiber Ports

    Fiber Ports

I am getting a fiber circuit turned up soon, and the provider lists two ports to connect to at the cross connect. Do they list one port per strand? Or does this mean there there are redundant cross connects?

Most likely TX/RX, if its SC and if they list it as 2 for LC I'd be curious.

Why did you ask this here? Why not ask the provider your paying a ridiculous amount of money to?
    'Ripcord'ing is the only way!

I knew I would get a much faster response here than from the provider we're paying ridiculous amounts of money to. :-) Our account manager is uber-fast at responding to me, but I don't know if he would have known this. On the other hand, I can barely get a response from our install coordinator there. And since there are two other third-parties involved, I knew fingers would be pointed (as is already happening.)

Thanks for the answers folks, exactly what I needed to know!

It's probably per strand (Telx does it this way).
