I have a feeling they didn't update their TOS (though that's not your problem). Why do I think this?

If you had send them a written cancellation notice, don't worry they will issue a full refund.

Their cancellation procedure seem like pure stalling. They have never seen your signature before. Anyone can cancel anyone's Server4You servers if you can afford the stamps, since all they ask for is a signed piece of paper which they cannot match against anything. It is more difficult to hack my email (and hack the right one/ones) than it is to write down a completely improvised signature.

That's just one of the many reasons I have decided to never do business with Server4You. They seem shady.

I don't want to step out of line, but I just want to point out that he requested a refund on the 14th, meaning he had 2 more weeks to provide them in writing his request, standard mail could easily take more than 2 weeks to arrive, "oh, we didn't receive it in 30 days, sorry"

That's an obvious scam tactic and your fax should have been more than adequate to satisfy their totally arbitrary requirement. Despite their claims, there is no legitimate legal basis in this whatsoever.

If you open the document http://www.server4you.de/templates/i...y_pr_eu_de.pdf it will be seen that, if you will make refund you need pay 15 euro. that ... best moneyback cost 15 euro
The company's policy does not take care and do not respect their customers. and its reputation is estimated at 50 euros ...
Future customers of this company, I recommend to think before using the services of this company. Sure start working with it, you also become a victim of hidden fees and ignoring your needs.

this is rediculous when a customers demand a refund and he/she is within her rigts to ask that it should be done within 24/48 hours (depending on banks etc) in my opion AFAIK there is no legal signature requirement that's "pushing it" so you're to late
