    switching host and control panels

I'm jumping ship to known host in just 2 days, also switching from plesk to cpanel

my current data center is in DC, they only have LA and TX
I'm not sure that location is a huge issue for me, but is one recommended over another?

LA and TX both have good infrastructure. I'm sure the quality of the hosting company itself is going to matter more than the location.

If your primary audience is scattered around the USA, then TX would be a better choice. If you have many visitors from Asia for example, LA would be better.
