    PHP extension "Zend Optimizer" is not loaded

    Can someone please help me with this error that I am getting -

    PHP extension "Zend Optimizer" is not loaded.
    Please verify your server configuration. Make sure that extension "Zend Optimizer" is enabled

    Am still new to XAMPP.

    The environment details are -
    OS - Windows
    XAMPP - v 1.7.4
    PHP 5.3.5

    I have installed Zend optimizer 3.3

    The php.ini (C:\xampp\php\php.ini) entries for Zend look like this

    ;report_zend_debug = 0
    ;zend_extension = "C:\xampp\php\ext\php_eaccelerator.dll"
    ;zend_extension = "C:\xampp\php\ext\php_xdebug.dll"
    zend_extension_manager.optimizer_ts="C:\Program Files\Zend\ZendOptimizer-3.3.0\lib\Optimizer-3.3.0"
    zend_extension_ts="C:\Program Files\Zend\ZendOptimizer-3.3.0\lib\ZendExtensionManager.dll"
    I did try to uncomment the zend_extension entries one by one. However, it still did not work.

    Any pointers will be of great help

    Did you make sure that the dll actually exists in that location too?

    Thanks for the replies.

    @Jacob - I checked the dll location. The file is present there
    @care - Restarting the servers did not help either

    try copying the zend files to C:\xampp\php\ext\ and propagate permission and restart apache. Also verify if correct zend version is chosen and compatible with php

    Thanks Care.
    It turned out to be a version issue. The latest version of zend is compatible only with v 5.2 of php and I was using v5.3

    Downgraded my XAMPP version and it seems to be working ok now.

    Not sure, if I should go with zend now though if they take so long to keep up with changes

    You need to use Zend Loader which is replacement of Zend Optimizer for PHP 5.3 Hyper-V SSD VPS USA London Singapore
    Reseller Hosting Cpanel PURE SSD CloudLinux Softaculous
    Windows Reseller Asp.NET 4.5 MSSQL 2012 SmarterMail Enterprise

    Pardon my ignorance.
    I had installed the Zend Guard. However, all I got was a eclipse interface. Could not figure out how to use it. I thought it might be a no-brainer like the optimizer install

    Is the Zend the latest version? And you might also have to put a line in , in the "extensions" area under a zend_extension=path

    Zend was the latest version. I also had the zend_extension defined. It still did not work.

    Any inputs on how can I use the Zend Guard?

    Zend optimizer is not installed by default on our cPanel servers. However, if you wish to use it, you may do the following steps:

    - Upload the file in the 'public_html' folder.(have attached the file)
    - Add the following lines to a php.ini file and place it in the 'public_html' folder:

    Doing this will enable Zend optimizer for your package.

    To test if it is done correctly, you may upload the following script:

    if ( ! function_exists('zend_optimizer_version'))
    echo 'Install Zend Optimizer';
    echo 'Zend Optimizer version: '.zend_optimizer_version();
