var sidebar_align = 'right';
var content_container_margin = parseInt('350px');
var sidebar_width = parseInt('330px');
Openvz auto restart
Any idea why this would happen?
I shut down a server, but if I don't disable it, it starts back up within a few seconds. It is becoming a pain for me. It doesn't look like any cronjob are installed for openvz.
I never have had this issue before so I am wondering if they installed a new feature I have to look into disabling.
Or maybe just the client is hitting the "boot" button in the control panel (if there is one)?
No, not that. There is a control panel but the VPS I was shutting down was one of our test ones, so no client has control of it. It seems like a new OpenVZ function but I can't find any documentation on it.
vzctl stop <VEID> --fast
vzctl set <VEID> --save --disable yes
and it wont boot up again
Yes but I'm looking for a way around that. I never used to have to disable my servers in order to get them to stay shut down.
How do you stop the server? vzctl --stop or "shutdown" from the control panel? Or "halt" from within the VPS?
vzctl stop, and poweroff inside the vps itself. It automatically restarts upon both.
Maybe it is the control panel noticing that a VPS that should be UP is not and is booting it again? Try to shutdown from the control panel.
By the way, which control panel is this?
Nothing your familiar with, but I know for a fact that isn't the case. It must be something with OpenVZ itself because it only does it on the newly installed servers.
Ok, look at /var/log/vzctl.log maybe it can provide some hint. Also check the version of vzctl on a new node and an old node and see if they differ. vzctl --version
