I know this isn't really what you were asking about, but when I read your post I wondered if you knew there was a WebHostingTalk Brazil (I believe it's .com.br), in case you have a specific need for a Portuguese-speaking WHT user.
Thanks, I've made this question because I would ask a (Portuguese speaking) WHT member to help on a translation from PT-Br to US-en and so we could clarify some things on a specific thread. Since the material is considerably long (~40 pages) and someway complex, I'm not sure I can do it alone.
With regard to the wht.com.br, I've asked because I've got a pop up window asking me to sign up. Then I were wondering who is running WHT in Brazil since the (most) WHT volunteers doesn't speak Portuguese - I were concerned about it getting messed.
Not a single word?
Oi = Hi
Obrigado = Thanks
That's nice to hear about that.
The Portuguese is a bit hard to learn, but just a bit - I'm sure you can if it is of your interest!

I just know few words of Portuguese. Actually, I have some online friends in Brazil, so whenever I do chat with them, I use Google translate to translate Portuguese to English and English to Portuguese. In this way, I have learned little Portuguese .
I've been in LN website before, and I saw a Brazilian flag on its top. At that time, it made wonder whether the company was providing support in PT-Br or not...
So, I believe you are, right?
I've never used Google translate.
Isn't it quite hard for you guys to communicate?
That's nice to hear you're learning due to this process.
What kind of songs do you like?
It has helped me to learn a bit of English.
Maybe it can do the same for you...
Yeah, it's a great bonus! I've learned a lot by participating on on-line "English" communities. I did learn it on school and particular academies, but, by using it is the most important part of this process.
By the way, I've learned a bit of Spanish and Ukrainian as well, and of this last, I don't remember a word.
Someone from Ukraine to help? =D
So in angry mode they use PT-Br?
Mostly, our fellows in Brazil are quite friendly.
They're probably becoming angry due to their fault to have learned the English at school times, so they could get better serviced by you - That's not yours fault
I'm wondering how many people at WHT speak or fully understand the Portuguese language.
I am portuguese I speak portuguese and live in Portugal. What can i help you with?
And there are a few differences between portuguese and brazilian portuguese.
I guess we dont like google translator, cause portuguese is too complicated to be translated by a machine xD the texts really get very confusing if translated on google, sometimes the sentences dont even make sense.
@MoreRNV, I've been out a few days. Sorry for this late response. I were thinking about translating some interesting pages into English, and provide its contents somewhere. Anyway, it'd be a pain to translate it due to the context complexity. It's around 40 pages - I'll do it some other day. Thanks for being prompt :-)
And yes, like 'MoreRNV' said, when we use an app to translate, from PT>EN or EN>PT, the text gets mostly messed up - If there's no other way to get something done, it helps, indeed.
There are very few good translators for that and Google is NOT one ;-)
