Not really, somewhere with good connection to the USA and Europe, around the same price and spec as Hostgator for there level 3 or leve 4 vps.
I have, had shared hosting with Hostgator, a few years ago and they was ok then. The price seems right. I also had a VPS with them at the begin of the year for a different project, but used there money back a few days later, as they project fell through.
During the time, there support was good.
I would prefer to get into a UK DC but the prices are a lot more it seems.
I am looking for stable company running a few years etc... and that can give me an upgrade path.
I don't really want to be moving a few months to a year later, if they close down.
For a US host that has good connection to the UK, I would suggest Interserver.net. They have been around since 1999. They're located around NYC and they have excellent peering to the UK. Dirt cheap, also.
Thanks for the replies.
My main audience is UK, Europe and USA.
So would the UK be the best, place as this is where most of my advertising be done.
The UK should have good connection to most of Europe.
It would just be the USA, that may have a slower connection, but if I start to get a lot of members for the USA I would start to look at some form of CDN.
The reason I was looking at USA VPS was due to price, as some of the UK VPS companies I have been looking at cost more.
But I have now seen I can go with a USA company but get a VPS in the UK for a cheaper price, then UK companies
