Looking for High-end Dedicated Server in Dallas, Texas!

    Hey everyone,
I currently have a few boxes right now running these specs:

    Dual Intel Xeon 5620
    24GB of RAM
    4x250GB (RAID-10)
    CentOS 5
    Gigabit Uplink
    3TB Bandwidth

And I am looking to purchase a few more with those specs, but hopefully cheaper than what I am paying right now. I would like to try a more centralized datacenter location like Dallas, Texas. This might be far-fetched, but does anyone have any recommendations with those specs for less than $350/month?

Definitly give TMS (Tailor Made Servers) a look:

    https://www.tailormadeservers.com/or...FER=WHTSPECIAL

Their current sale has a bunch of servers within your budget. I'm sure if you ask TMS - JoseQ to drop the 5th and 6th hard drives it'll even lower the cost... The 5520's can be upgraded to 5620's for an extra $30 when you go to the order form. They are located in the Colo4 DC in Dallas. Highly recommended! <3

I think your budget is a bit low for that server config. However, you can try to contact these providers in Texas to see if they can offer you:

    QuadraNet
    LimestoneNetworks
    SoftLayer

Thanks guys! I should have clarified I am with SL and LSN right now getting those boxes for a little more than the price I posted. Rumors tell me is possible to get that setup for that price range, so I thought I'd ask .

I'll try QuadraNet and TMS and see what they have to offer. Are there anymore companies out there?

I think you're asking a lot for only $350 per month, I'd be surprised if you could find a financially stable and fiscally smart company that would sell you another of that server for $350 per month.

I've seen other companies offer that before, but just not in Dallas.

    TMS offers:

    CPU: Dual Xeon 5620
    Mem: 24GB DDR3 RAM
    HDD: 250GB SATA-II
    HDD: 250GB SATA-II
    HDD: 250GB SATA-II
    HDD: 250GB SATA-II
    HDD: 250GB SATA-II
    HDD: 250GB SATA-II

For $369 ... removing the 5th and 6th HDD's would bring the cost within his budget. Also switching to a 5520 instead of a 5620 would save an extra $40 a month. TMS have been around for an extremely long time offering low prices from the start... safe to assume they are financially stable. (Just saying...)

I wish I could link you, but they were quotes over the phone.

Hey Patrick, thanks for the advice on TMS; I sent them an e-mail for a few quotes so hopefully things pan out well!

I was able to price out that config exactly the same, but I couldn't find a way to change the port speed to gigabit, as per the OP's requirement. Is there no way to choose a gigabit uplink?

Edit: Forgot to add RAID as well, brought that up an extra $60 on website.

Not by default. I'm not even sure if TMS offers gigabit uplinks to customer servers but I'm sure if they do unofficially, Jose can make it happen if asked. I would hope so at least, especially when everyone else is offering gigabit uplinks for nominal costs.

I tried to price it out online too, but it doesn't look like there is a way to change it to gigabit. Probably the best way is to hit them up through e-mail .

The price for the server with these spec is about $500 (Located Texas).
Gigabit Uplink and RAID option will costs about additional $100.
And for what you need Gigabit Uplink with 3 TB traffic i cant understood.

Looking for High-end Dedicated Server in Dallas, Texas!

I'm new in this field but as I understand $500 is a good price for a good Dedicated Server. I've heard my cousin bought one for his business with even worse configurations for $550.
