This is the funny thing...
When nobody talks about them, nobody even cares to post anything bad or etc. But when someone starts talking, everyone seems to have their share of bad experience with them as well.
Perhaps those who actually fell in this problem could PM the mods to remove the post on the offer section so that the other people around here will not fall prey to them?Aaron Ong

I opened a thread regarding the scam they pulled on me and was trashed and raged at by most members for weeks, despite posting a 2 page thread and posting 50+ pictures of proof, I also rent out 500$+ of equipment monthly from other companies so their pathetic excuse that I was 'being cheap' failed.
Still, WHT users are mainly ignorant, most of them are up their own asses and I wish I could say differently but that is also justifiable for the rest of the world. As for W2Servers, they will get their payback.. one day.

I had several VPS'es with W2 servers, and ordered a dedicated lately.
They held my funds(800$) without processing my order/ after a month when i cancelled the ordered they refused to refund the funds.
A few days back, they said we were charged $1000 in abuse fee, and took the money from the balance and my credit was -$200.
After looting the balance they terminated all our 10+ VPS'es.
It's a long story which we'll not be leaving just like that, but will take every measure to take their company down, as we don't want anymore guys to get cheated.
Now, my question is the payment was made from paypal, so what can i do to get the money back?

I was sooooooo tempted to sign up their dedi box before since it is so cheap, but now I am just sooooo glad that I did not do it.
Honestly, for 16.67 bucks per month of an Atom dedi box, I do not know if I can expect anything beyond "if it works, it works, if it does not work, it does not" type of attitude.

Man, thats not right. For example I have well over 8 VPS . Not everyone shines and has it ´s own weakness.
But : no one has been like w2.
why?
1- No reply to tickets.
2-Blame me for the downtime ( they would even send later on massive emails saying they had """DC""" outage ).
3- Be rude.
4- Unpolite : use of acronyms, dont track down issues
shortly : take the year payment an run.
Errr.. we are not even allowed to remove our own posts after some time here on WHT, why would they ( w2) have the privilege of doing whatever they want and continue raping customers and no one mentioning it.
Would you like to have my ""VPS""? I had not been fully informed ( and this could have saved me ). Are you planning to cover anyone else´s loss?
I use them for a non uptime dependent need but worst thing is that they would not even assume it does not work, they say its your fault ( yeah, pings dont reach the box).
When I tried to log into my box I could not ( for around 10 -15 days)
They ask: whats the state of your VPS in the CP? Its up from here.
Thats easy : they have offsite control panels and boxes are "up"

@ OP Did you give W2 Servers a review?
According to their site:
"My experience has been better then expected. I thought it was going to take 1-2 days to get my VPS, and it only took around 2-3 hrs if that.. It's great so far!"

I did indeed. I sent that early on when I had just a VPS with them. I had found the VPS on LowEndBox.com, http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/w2-ser...mb-openvz-vps/ everything was working perfectly just like I had expected, and I never believed anything was wrong, or anything. They had live chat, and answered support tickets quickly. However, I also had a dedicated server directly with FDC Servers at the time, and I was month-to-month well a couple months later W2 Servers started offering the exact same server I was paying $64.00/month at $25.00/month($300.00/year), so a saving of about $468.00/year. The other added option was that I only had 10mbit unmetered at FDC, and W2 was offering 100mbit cheaper. I had contacted FDC to see if they could match the price if I went directly with them instead of their reseller, and they wouldn't. I figured W2 was able to get those prices through volume. I hadn't researched much because I had such a good experience with the VPS, and I hadn't heard any complaints on here, and even did a thread asking about them.
I have sense sent a ticket via their WHMCS asking them to remove my review, but of course they didn't respond, or remove my review.
PS: I must admit I had to have been in high clouds, or naive to think I could get more for less money from a reseller than directly with the company.

You can quite often get a better price with a reputable reseller than with the DC directly. However, it won't be to the tune of 75% off and a free port upgrade like you got there. The more I read about w2's pricing model, the more it looks like a 'take your money and run' scenario. There is no way they could sustain themselves by selling machines at $25/mo when they cost $70/mo to them, unless they like to burn through their personal finances.
Good luck to you and I hope everything works out in your favor.AYKsolutions.com - High Bandwidth Specialists - 10Gbps/20Gbps+ Unmetered & DDOS Protected

All of this talk shows don't ever go with any low grade companies. I always check a company's repute and domain age.

At least starting out when they were offering the $25 boxes (Chicago DC), it was reselling boxes from a company I don't remember. Anyway, at the time, there was a link posted on here. The company only sold in lots of 20 servers, which was something like $350 or $400 dollars for the 20 and it was on a "metro net" or some other kind of shared network. Granted, reselling at $25 didn't leave a lot of mark up room for W2 to hire tech support, make a profit, etc., but it wasn't like they were leasing the servers for $50 or $75 and selling them for $25.

Hope you guys work it out. Nothing at all wrong with looking for the best price as long as you do your research. Anyone who blames you for expecting the advertised service is just looking for attention. Group up and do what you can.

VPS back up!
Something was telling me all the while these guys are not intending on the disappearing act and I kept patience hoping they honor the emails they have been sending.
While about a week's downtime is hardly acceptable, I am glad they at least managed to get the server up just now! Hoping they manage the servers properly henceforth.

Are you people out of your minds? Look at the track record here. This is not the first time this has happened this is now his what 3rd? 4th? company that has done the same thing. If history repeats itself, which it has a few times already, they'll be going totally out of business shortly. Stop kidding yourselves.

I did not seek refund, so I don't know that part. But the emails did appear sincere if not realistic.
UK. Same IP, same box I think. All the data is there the way it went down.
I know, but it is just my backup box until now and I wasn't too worried about it when it went down. It would have been vastly frustrating if there were any production sites on it.
P.S.: Oh yes, I am hoping the box wasn't just powered on by oversight of the datacenter.Last edited by Glasso; 06-20-2011 at 10:26 PM.
