    Domain Resellers

So my host offers a free domain reseller account, so I look at the information on it, a .com costs 9.75 to initally register, then 10.00 a year to renew. The thing is the domain registar I use for my own domain, costs me 9.99 to buy and renew. But it's not just them, even enom charged 11.50/yr at their lowest packagae, in fact you need the volume plan (with a $900 setup fee) to get pricing below 10/yr.

So I guess the question is are domain resellers really that bad?

What do you mean by bad? Are you referring to reseller prices being too expensive? If so, look around till you find a good priced reseller... I can promise you they do exist

Ya I think thats pretty bad when the retail price I get from my registrar is cheaper that the cost for the reseller. It's actuially worse for other tld's like .orf, $14 from the reseller, retails with my registrar is $9.99.

Though actually I notice that my reigistrar has a reseller program of their own with no setup or monthly fees, you just pay their full retail price for the first 1000 domains. Looks like that might be the best option, unless someone has another recommendation for domain reseller with little to no startup costs.

If you look around for domain reselling cost you will easily get around $8.9.

There is no money from domain registrations. I would consider domains a loss leader. Once you figure out the game well you can make it work to your advantage!

Thanks for the tip, I did some more searching and found onlinenic, .com's from 9.39-8.09 and you need to load $80 to start. The lowest price seems reachable once youu balance plus what you've previously spent has reached $670.

Sounds decent, but anyone have any experience with them?

Look at InternetBS (www.internetbs.net) - they are by far the cheapest I have seen.

All you have to put in is $60 to get the API Key. That $60 can be used as funds to pay for the domains in the future. They have a module for WHMCS as well.

Is this domain reseller compatible with WHMCS or HostBill, I might use them. I used to use API access from NameCheap to register domain it's all manual work, the domain is registed but then you have to pay them. It's quite confusing

Resell.biz used to be called Stargate, so you should use that module with WHMCS.

What about HostBill? because right now i'm deciding on a billing system i've used WHMCS it's ok but never used HostBill before, so i'm thinking if there is a module for Resell.Biz.

Is there not a way to provide them with a credit card for them to automatically charge. IMO I like that better than having to fill up a prepaid account. Helps me keep my liquidity, then just paying once a sale has been made.

Get a Reseller Account for free from a reliable eNom ETP. They'll charge you between 8.95 to 9.50 for registrations/renewals.
