How do you validate orders for large amount of IPs

    Hi,
I was wandering how would you validate an order for a dedicated server with Class C network?
Many orders that request Class C network end up being spammers and eventually you need to clean up the mess left by the spammer cleaning the IP reputation, etc.

Request verification of what they need the IPs for.

Do a search on Google for the persons name, business name and domain. See where that leads you.

Generally speaking, whenever we get requests like this we send them an "IP Form" that asks some specific questions.

From there, we tell them that all address space requests must follow ARIN policies.

Most spammers won't even reply to the first part let alone provide justifications.

The people who really need them will be able to tell you what it's for.

It's not worth cleaning up the mess because most of the time, spammers will quickly move to other providers once the IPs become blacklisted. They know the game and they play it well.

We do require IP justification, but usual answer is "we need it for SSL hosts".
Are there any public "IP Form"s that we can download and use?

    Thanks

    What are the domain names?

Yeah most carriers have them on their site.

Cogent's is pretty good... We just modified that one. They're all listed here: http://cogentco.com/component/conten...desk/134-guide

    If they say "class ___", 99% chance it's a spammer/SEO scum.
If they say /24 or /23 or something, send them the usual form. If they say something like VPN or rotating IPs for newsletters, drop them. If they say SSL, request a domain list and make sure the entire list isn't .info spam domains or anything. If SEO is brought up *anywhere*, they get one IP. Period.

To add to that, most people who actually need a /27 or whatever size will most likely be a business. So check the domain of their email address they used to contact you and see what their company does. This will give you the best indication.

If their email is "[email protected]", red flag.
