Our apologies on the hold times. The time customers wait for support requests and our phone support is below par at times. One of our stronger focuses is getting those times down, while still providing the best possible support to every customer. If you ever needed help with a quick question, we do have a Twitter account to handle those issues as well. Feel free to reach us anytime on @mediatemple.
I'm an ex-(MT)er myself, and used their GridService for approximately nine months a couple of years back. Contrary to some reviews I've seen, I found them very reliable, and I can't see why the (DV) package would be any different. They certainly have a great customer service ethos, which is ideal if you're after a semi-managed package such as theirs.
I'll echo ComputerChris' point: one thing I did notice when I was there was particularly long ticket wait times, thus I had to use phone support a lot of the time. Maybe this has improved since I was there on the (GS) package, but you may want to check. Nevertheless, when I did get through to them, they were always incredibly helpful and informative, and their reps cared about finding a resolution for me, which is something you don't see everywhere.

I was with them for about a month or two, back in August-September.
I started with the grid service plan, and outgrew it quickly..my site used a lot of GPUs, and it was costing about $60/month then, so I upgraded to their lowest (dv) plan, and didn't have any problems. It was my first time messing with a VPS, and i'm glad I had to learn a few things, or I wouldn't know much of what I do about servers today.
My only complaint is the same as most people, the wait times on phone support, and ticket support.
