USA Kansas? Hows this place
I will be relocating to Kansas? Anybody there can tell me how's the place with regard to employment opportunities? Is it an industrial area or remote?
Is the weather good or always snowy?

Where at in Kansas? It's a decent sized state with a LOT of rural areas (IE not many jobs). But if you head to one of the larger spots - Kansas City, for instance - you should have no trouble finding a job somewhere.
I haven't lived IN Kansas, but I lived about 30 minutes away for most of my life. They have BEAUTIFUL weather and they have NASTY weather. It all depends on what mother nature is doing that day.

Kansas is in an area that is subject to tornadoes at times, but it is not as likely to suffer an earthquake as the West Coast states. You can expect cold winters and hot summers with the full 4 seasons of weather patterns.
Agriculture is prolly the leading industry in Kansas, but there are cities where high tech jobs can be found.
Kansas is approximately in the center of the 48 contiguous US states, so there are data centers in Kansas that advertise that fact to web based businesses focused on US visitors.

Thanks for the info..
I will get a free air ticket as well as the eligibility to stay there for any amount of time as they are sponsored by my husband's company.
Was wondering whether I should remain in India where cost of living is less or move to the USA, I was afraid whether recession still affected the US economy and whether it would be hard to find a job.
We are from India and will be moving to the USA for the first time.

I have an aunt and uncle in Topeka that love it! I have only ever driven through and stayed one night on my way to Arizona.
They have told me good and bad about it. I thought the drive was beautiful when we passed through

Then it's more like a countryside compared to a bustling city.
I hate city life

Some areas are beautiful countryside and some are bustling cities. It's a big state. Compared to other parts of the us, I believe the cost of living in Kansas is fairly low.

I lived in The Kansas City Metro Area. There are always open careers here, As long as your in the Greater Kansas City Area. Elsewise, Its nothing. We get alot of weather, Subject to Large Hail, Tornadoes, Winds, Snow. Not so much earthquakes lol. Its a great place to live.

Public schools are free, aside from meals and supplies. (And there are programs to help you with those costs if necessary)

If you are talking about the state Kansas, I am able to answer this since my whole family lives there.
Kansas is somewhat in the middle of nowhere surrounded by a couple mid-size cities such as Manhattan and I believe Topeka. I would call it sort of like farm land.
It is not built up as much as Arizona, Texas etc however it is built up more than a lot of other states in the USA. Id say it is in between.
The weather there is horrible especially in the winters. You have to stay in your house like 7months out of the year where as with Arizona you can be out the whole year.
Hope you enjoy Kansas
