I´m planning to buy a couple of routers for edge router running full BGP table. Actually, i´m working with a Cisco 7206 VXR NPEG2 and two upstreams (337.000 and 326.000 routes with my two upstreams).
Unfortunately, ASR 1001 has a limitation of 500.000 ipv4 routes per device, is possible upgrade it to 1.000.000? I guess that is possible to use an upstream per device, but i should prefer use one for production and another one of backup.
I see the IPv4 table growing as more and more smaller blocks are allocated.
I also see it consolidating as IPv6 adoption increases and the needs for announcing a lot of these /24 and /23 blocks decreases. Simply don't accept and/or aggregate such small blocks and you cut the routing table in half (nearly half of our routing table is /23's or /24's).
Also, don't understand your highlighting. Even if you're receiving the full 328,000 routes from 100 different providers you're probably receiving the same routes from most of them and your own routing table isn't going to have many more routes than any of those individually.
