Need e5620 in LA with pure mzima, not webnx or ubiquity

    Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a dedicated LA provider that could provide me with pure mzima bandwidth and the following specs:

    Dual e5620
    12gb ram
    2x 500gb drives (software raid-1)
    3500gb monthly transfer
    100mbit port
    /27 IP allocation

Looking for price in the $209-249/mo. I can sign up a 1yr contract

I've had bad experiences with Ubiquity (extremely high network latency) and WebNX (terrible billing/management).

Please email me if you have an offer. Do not contact me if you can not offer these exact specs and pure mzima bandwidth.

WebNX has a segment of their network that is still pure Mzima I believe. Have you asked them about it?

If you had read the title or description of this thread, you would notice that I put "not webnx"

Had thought you were just referring to their network at first.

Anyway, having been a customer of theirs for quite a while, I've had zero problems with their billing/management...

I think PacificRack is in LA. Maybe check them out. Not sure what their pricing is though.

Why do you require specifically Mzima/Packetexchange?
You only want connectivity to them, or just to make sure they are directly connected in a provider's mix?

They provide substantially better bandwidth for gaming. And yes, exclusively mzima bandwidth.

    Good luck.
It's one thing to ask for a provider with Mzima/PackaetExchange in the mix, but single-homed ONLY to them is unrealistic. Even if you find one, they will grow, add more carriers, and will not be single-homed to them any longer.

All of my previous providers in LA have not had a problem providing this. I'm sure there are others who can do it as well.

This is all relative though. Even if your hosting company is multi homed, you're still single homed to that provider. Similarly, PacketExchange is multi homed to numerous other carriers.

On that note, ask Corporate Colo.

Buy/lease a server from Dell, colocate it and get a direct cross-connect from Mzima. Not hard since they are everywhere downtown LA.

I'm sure bandwidth pricing from a provider who already utilizes Mzima would be a lot more affordable than purchasing directly from Mzima.

    Good luck with your search!

Unlikely, Mzima does not really negotiate - a dollar less here, and one here - but not so much that it would change anything.
