    www2.google.com and www3.google.com down?

    Hi Everyone,

I was trying to learn about the Google Dance today, I was trying to also find out if www2.google.com and www3.google.com were working but it seems that they are down, is it only from my side or is it for everyone else?

What happens when both these urls are going down? Any any?
I asking because I have noticed a huge drop in traffic all my websites the last few days.

    Thank you,

    Ben

    www.google.com works, encrypted.google.com works. that's all that's important.

'www' is really just a subdomain. So it's a fairly common practice to point 'www2' 'www3' etc to different servers that are just mirroring each other. Generally used for load balancing.

Sometimes you see it, other times it's masked.

I am guessing Google will mask it, surely there site (google.com/.co.uk/.fr etc) is pretty load balanced on the standard WWW.

Both the urls that were shared are not working at my end. For what purpose, these url's used on Google?

Well, I tried to use multiple Google Dance tools in order to check my site on multiple Google servers because I had huge ranking fluctuations on some of my sites, if you want to know more about that try this link, if the admin remove it then type in Google "what is www2.google.com", I could not find any good sites with a good answer, only this one which goes into details:
    http://www.google-dance-tool.com/wha...gle_dance.html

    Good luck,

    Ben
