    mysql .MYD .MYI are missing

    hi

    I've mysql server running ,and i have one single database. everything is working fine but I cant find .MYD and .MYI of one of my tables .and now when i tried to make a backup mysqldump fails because .MYI et .MYI are not found.



    any help will be appreciated.

    Hmm,,
    Contact your host ASAP. Let them know.
    Hopefully they can repair the database.

    hi
    the database is fine as long as it's running ,and i can add data to it;
    But where the data goes if I don't have any .MYD et .MYI

    Aren't .MYD and .MYI files only used for MyISAM tables? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MyISAM

    Maybe you're using primarily the InnoDB storage engine.

    As CArmstrong mentioned, you're most likely using InnoDB tables, which don't have .MYD or .MYI files.

    yes i do have root acces .

    and yes I'm using InnoDB ,i didn't know that MyISAM doesn't need .MYD and .MYI.

    well I've been struggling for so so long with this.
    I really appreciated the help

    Corrections !!!!!!!!!!!!


    InnoDB engine doesn't need .MYD and .MYI
    MyISAM engine needs .MYD and .MYI
