URGENT Suggestions needed, Looking to move my entire business away from 100tb.
Hey Guys,
At present i am having 7 servers with 100TB and i am loosing my clients daily due to some stupid firewall rules being in place on softlayer which automatically puts up our IP's behind FIREWALLS for some reason of exceeded per hour bandwidth.
I don't know where it came fro but i am getting 0kbps connectivity in all servers, i order a firewall removal which comes back next hour for same reason and i am fed up of this.
Need suggestions from you guys i need this config :
xeon 3220, xeon 3430, xeon 3460 ( xeon 3220 prefer)
2-4TB HDD
10TB Outgoing bandwidth (10-15TB)
1Gbit ports
Windows 2008 SERVER STANDARD edition
USA LOCATIONS
I am presently looking for singlehop, but need more suggestions, please provide your inputs for the same.
I need to move asap.
Regards

I NEED RAID 0 on servers, forgot to mention above.
They are all WINDOWS SERVERS AND I just sell REMOTE DESKTOPS on them, nothing much to be hosted on my servers.
Thanks for the input, i will check them now.
My clients are generally seo workers, who run 24x7 jobs and in case of any DMCA notification (if any), we work out with DC to get the data offline asap.
I am looking for around 200-250 USD per server, singlehop is likely to give me a deal around same budget for xeon 5520 & 5620 i think, i have emailed them for tandem program.
The config is not a major one, i need basic processors and i ADDED RAID0.

I'd also check Colocateusa.com We've been using them for YEARS now. Good service. Last 3 years we've been 100% uptime.

As the OP knows - I am working with SoftLayer on this. This is Cisco Guard picking up a possible DDoS attack. The OP knows it is DDoS as he recently came to me before this happened with some DDoS issues.

Even before i came here, THOMAS has emailed me and he is already helping me with this.
There is no DDOS ATTACK, the softlayer has decreased its threshold as said to me from support and this is what kicking out this alert which places my services behind cisco and blocks all connections making servers useless.
TOM has replaced 2 of my servers just due to this issues only to find out that the reason was totally different.
I have replied to you THOMAS for your email, please check and sort this out. I will never move away from a fantastic service which you guys provide , its just that its affecting my clients at present.
Thanks a lot TOM for the help, looking forward for your help.

Are they all part of a redundant pool?
Unless I missed something this seems strange and doesn't add up. Firewalls don't work that way. I can not imagine ANY circumstance where rule behavior is to filter all outbound traffic from their network IPs. Even if it's so adding a rule to bypass all checks to just your net range should be a simple fix.

We use Singlehop and Hivelocity.net and have been very happy with them so far. I like SingleHop's control panel (LEAP) but prefer Hivelocity's lower prices.

@arisythila: My guess would be that he targets illegal people (Torrent, Rapidshare and similar) - sounds like it.

yeah... more than likely...
I don't think people realize how much 300GB of bandwidth is. or 2TB of bandwidth. It's ALOT of bandwidth. We have VERY few dedicated users that can do more than 3-5meg of bandwidth with normal website hosting.█ Michael Wallace - michael@innoscale.net

Guys guys,
there is no need to discuss all this thing.
TOM is already helping me with this thing, i hope he solves it for me.
And secondly i do not target illegal people, my clients work on SEO applications which is likely to get high bandwidth IN & OUT which is why softlayer system triggers as DDOS alert, so thats the issue.
Now can we stop discussing as it does not belong to my thread here.
