    Help - slow page loads

I have a dedicated webserver with CentOS, Cpanel/WHM, 2.4GHz Celeron with 2GB RAM. Recently my websites load very slow and I'm wondering if there is anything that I can do to improve the performance. This wasn't an issue last year. I have not changed any of the website software for over 1yr... WHM Service Status showed the following. How do I read that? Can I cleanup some logs to improve the speeds or anything?

That server load doesn't look good. It may be that over time your sites got bigger and busier, and that CPU is simply too weak for the job.

Yes, the site has grown and is getting more and more traffic. It looks like it's time to look for a new server. Anything that I can do to make it better as a temporary solution?

Interesting that it's showing 5 CPUs for a Celeron, which can only have a maximum of 2 cores. What kind of sites are you running on that server?

It depends on the number of concurrent users you're dealing with. But it's safe to say the the server isn't coping well with that number as it is. Here's what I recommend:

    1) Run mod_php (DSO) if you're not already
    2) Run an opcode cache that's recommended for your CMS (ex: eAccelerator, APC, xcache, etc)
    3) Cache pages as much as possible using something like Memcached

    Kalmos,

Stick with SuPHP and go purchase Unixy's varnish addon! http://www.unixy.net/varnish

I believe they do test licenses and you'll see a major speed increase.

Are there any WHM/Cpanel, PHP, Apache, mySQL or other setting tweaks that you guys recommend?

I like MySQL tuner for very basic my.cnf tweak suggestions, but really adding in caching will do the most good. We love Varnish as well.

For MySQL Tuner log in via SSH and run

    # wget mysqltuner.pl
    # chmod 755 mysqltuner.pl
    # ./mysqltuner.pl
