I have a question of what happens from the merchant's standpoint.
Sometimes when I order something online from a store and the amount is fairly high, like $1k, the bank will call me to confirm the charge. I confirm it. Buts say that a customer is engaged in friendly fraud and starts to play dumb when the bank calls them and says they didn't authorize this charge? What happens then? Does a chargeback happen immediately, or does the bank require them to fill out a chargeback form?
This has happened to me a few times, but from what I understand the charge doesn't actually go through until they get the confirmation from me. Not 100% sure though, might depend on the bank.
