recommend me an offsite backup server

I'm looking for an offsite backup server that I can send all my Cpanel/WHM backups to. What are you recommendations?

Serversync.com has some great prices on backup storage. I have been using them for several years and their are very reliable.

I believe you mean R1Soft. They provide software, no actual backup services that I'm aware of.

    Yes you're correct
R1Soft is providing a backup software and not the backup storage

There are some cheap solutions for cPanel backup besides R1Soft.

Try with BQbackup, they provide 2 TB for lesser price, maintaining a server is too costly option.

I also have an account with BQBackup. They're really good.

ServerSync supports cPanel/WHM, where as BQBackup don't. But I think BQBackup offer better pricing for larger accounts though?

I suppose it depends what you're after - better pricing or better features?

I know BQBackup doesn't offer cPanel on their own accounts, but I believe they support it fully backup wise.

    RsyncPalace is another option.

I tried them a year or so ago and their servers/dns kept going down, etc. I haven't seen any negative threads about them lately though.

Honestly, with backups and datacenter-to-datacenter transfer speeds it's not going to matter that much. BQ is in New York. We used to use them for servers in Texas, Atlanta, Chicago and Michigan. Now we colo our customer equipment in NJ which is only a few miles from their DC, but we still have our sites in Chicago without any problems.

Don't go for RsyncPalace.com, poor service, no support. I took their 100GB backup account. Once I reached 47GB, no further data is accepted. I contacted their support, but no response. Please keep away from them.

    Hi guys,

A bit old thread but I am interested to know the difference between BQ backup and serversync.

Could you make it more clear as how serversync provides support for Cpanel but BQ not?

    @FiberLightning what do you mean
"I know BQBackup doesn't offer cPanel on their own accounts, but I believe they support it fully backup wise."?

    Thank you

We don't use WHM/cPanel to manage our backup servers, but that has no effect on whether you can actually back up a cPanel server. You can use WHM's FTP backup method, or you can use Rsync, which is significantly more efficient.

    Hi Scott,

    Thanks for answering this.

But still not understand what is the difference with serversync as from what has been said here I understand that they use rsync but could be implemented via Cpanel or something like this.

I suppose I have to try both and see:-)
