FSCK - Is it really unavoidable?
I read some reviews and provider says..."the server is doing fsck which is unavoidable" - is this true?
█ Ask for Server IP & Nameservers IP to check if your reseller provider truly provides 100% white-label.

Discussed a few times here ( http://lmgtfy.com/?q=fsck+unavoidable ) pretty much for ext3 it is unavoidable if you value the integrity of your data.

Yes, probably unavoidable in practice, but you should be looking not simply at whether it happens, but how often and how long it takes, ie. the resulting total or percentage downtime. I believe the provider's technology choices have a huge influence on this. Better power in the datacenter, high-end RAID cards, faster drives, more drives, smaller arrays etc. - all should reduce downtime due to fscks and all come at extra cost, which the provider will have to pass on to the client. You pays your money and takes your choice...

If you stop a fsck, you're asking for problems...

Switch to XFS (we've been using for more than 12 years now) - when FSCK needed for ext3, for XFS - 5 sceonds to clean up log files and I am talking about 20+TB partitions (impossible at all to have ext3 partitions like that).
During 12 years may be 2 times file system crashed so that we had to run "repair" and once it was unrecoverable. with ext3 - probably at least every 3-rd time after crash you would need full FSCK.Professional Streaming services - http://www.tulix.com - info at tulix.com
