    Recommendations for FTP Software

    I have a need to upload 20 GB files constantly between Singapore and Australia. But an International 1 GB IPLC is out of question due to the price. Just wondering is there any good ftp software that can continue the upload automatically even if connection is a problem?

    A normal program like smartftp or filezilla should do the job, Maybe you should think of buying a small vps like windows to upload your files because they will have no downtime and should not have any network problems so it should take less time and not be interupted.

    Hope this helps.

    I prefer ncftp when I'm forced to go the FTP route.

    I'm using CoreFTP and never had any problems. A good thing about them is that its totally FREE.

    He'd still need to get them to the VPS.

    Can't you setup a torrent tracker to seed them back and forth? Torrent isnt ALL bad, i mean you can download a linux via torrents... its not that difficult to setup.

    @cselzer;

    I think you're seriously overcomplicating the solution there. Torrenting works best when you have multiple sources to pull from.. the extra work to setup torrenting files from one machine to another is just overkill for no extra benefit.

    Just a notice to Filezilla users: keep in mind that any information stored in the filezilla plugin is stored in XML, as plaintext. If others have access to the machine, they can very easily get your FTP creds.

    Not really what the OP asked, but rsync could be a viable option, given the amount of data and the fact that rsync can be used to transfer only the files which have changed it might well be worth a look

    We have been using flashfxp for awhile.

    If you don't need fxp funciton, then filezilla is a good option like other poster recommended.

    I can also recommend Filezilla, I have used it for as long as I can remember! You could also consider a solution such as Dropbox for transferring your files. It could easily handle 20GB for a small fee.

    Make it other way as suggested use rsync or setup a FTP server in Singapore and use a download manager or FTP client in Australia, for FTP server/client FileZilla gives you both.

    Filezilla is good although I would prefer rsync or scp via the shell
