    Traffic per Server?

    Hello guys,

Do you mind posting some numbers with regards to how much traffic you experience per mainstream server you own that is used for shared hosting and/or reseller hosting?

Server would be a quad or 2Quad with 4-8 GB Ram and 500GB usable HDD.

    Many thanks

Totally depends on packages you are selling and what kind of websites you host. Probably many providers oversell it, that's why they mostly won't post here

It's dependant of so many factors, hard to put a number on it
Don't think you'll be getting much more info here.

It varies hugely from server to server, and entirely depends on what the clients on each server host.

You need to specify what type of shared hosting you're offering. It could be the norm, shoutcast, icecast, etc.

But as others said that isn't something people will disclose.

Bandwidth is usually the last of your concerns for generic shared/reseller hosting. A very rough guess would be a steady 1mpbs for every 100 accounts. But this can vary widely depending on your customer base.

    Hello GCM

Normal shared and reseller, not shoutcast, video/music stream etc.

    Thanks

    Hello Sam,

That is about 350 GB per month? if I am not wrong.

Many thanks for the input, really appreciated.

Yes, that's 324gb a month. Remember any estimate anyone gives you will be far from exact, but that's at least something to go on.
