What do you think of the .tk TLD? What are the pros or cons of using such a domain. I think it could be great for testing purposes seeing as it's free but would you run a site that you would want to be regarded as professional?
I wouldn't use it as a professional domain. With prices of domains as low as they are it seems kind of pointless, just to save 10 bucks a year.

.tk are bad IMO. You should just spend some money and get a professional TLD. If you are using it for like testing or something then ok. But if you will use it for everyday use then you should get a real TLD.
There are plenty of registrars where you can get a .com or .net for even less than $10 per year. For example - http://www.internet.bs
At that point, if you have even a somewhat serious site it's not worth using a .tk. For testing and such, it's of course a good option though.

I suppose you need to make sure that your domain name is short enough, memorable enough. If your business is worldwide better use COM domain name but if your business for Tokelau, a territory of New Zealand it would be fine to use .TK domain.
