File Hosting: GridSpace Project
Hi All,
We're currently working on a mini project, called The GridSpace, which is a file host that allow its users to easily upload, link and share small-large files, such as images, video, audio and .zip's (basically all types of file extensions) free, for use on blogs, forums and websites.
The aim is to provide uploading files simply, securely and made available at all times for your use. There are probably other upload sites of your preference but we wish to manage and develop GridSpace to something even more so that you'll want to use it.
Right now free users/members can upload files up to 250MB and have 5GB account storage. Premium upgrades are also available, in days, if you wish to upload larger files (500MB) and would like bigger storage (15GB). Files are uploaded to a container in GridSpace's separate cloud hosting, this ensures a fast upload, delivery and download; then link's generated and shortened with our own url. Try uploading »
There are other small features like multiple uploading; 'My Files' for you to manage and organize your uploaded files, which is currently in beta, along with your account settings; and the API for you to be able to upload files to your account via your website, blog or forum etc. Uploaded files will never be deleted as long as they agree to our terms.
Suggestions
If you have any suggestions and recommendations feel free to reply to this thread. And if you're not fond of certain areas on GridSpace then please also tell us what it is/they are, and whether you no longer don't want it to exist currently or in the future.

Most popular file host let you earn money by uploading. I don't think anyone would want to upload files to such a files host that doesn't give the uploader anything in return.
Try to get giveaway more rewards..

Hi wadie
Thanks for your suggestion. We're currently developing a points system for members - all members account area (i.e. 'my files') are in beta - which we're testing. In the next version we release we hope our users will use this to earn points and redeem rewards; for example earn points every time you upload, and every time your file is downloaded; you can redeem cash or vouchers for your points. However this will not be immediate from now, seeing as the site has only been released last week.

Hi celona
Thanks! Yes and no, as we originally bought the uploader with all the basic functions, afterwards we heavily customized the script; multiple upload sessions, now uploads to our Rackspace Cloud Files containers, have our own url shortener plus other features in development/beta.
Keep the comments coming - we'd love to hear more ideas you'd like to see in our version 2!
