I received a complaint that a user on my server attempted to hack or crack another server.
I run a cpanel server with shared account.
Can anyone tell which log file would tell which user attempted to connect to the 3rd party server.
What company are you with?
I would rather not say! They want me to sign up for a platinum support package @ $200 a month.
Server will be null routed close of business today unless I find the offending user.

Sound to me like they are out to get you.
Anyway I recommend you check out Rack911 or PSM if you need outside support help.
few other tips:
You many also want to check your user accounts for SSH/php shell script.
Also if you give your users SSH access, kill it.
Also if you know when it started and had a user sign-up that day, most likely it's that person.

Yeah .. I have found a tech support team I have worked with before and they are checking it out for less.
