    Problem Accessing Site

    Whenever I try and get onto my site not via localhost I get 'Forbidden

    You don't have permission to access / on this server.'

    There is no .htaccess so I don't know what the problem is. I've got apache.

    Do you have Apache pointing to the correct path and is your index page index.* ?

    I've sorted it out now but the vhosts (subdomains) aren't working. It is enabled it httd.conf and the vhosts file goes like this.

    #
    # Virtual Hosts
    #
    # If you want to maintain multiple domains/hostnames on your
    # machine you can setup VirtualHost containers for them. Most configurations
    # use only name-based virtual hosts so the server doesn't need to worry about
    # IP addresses. This is indicated by the asterisks in the directives below.
    #
    # Please see the documentation at
    # <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/vhosts/>
    # for further details before you try to setup virtual hosts.
    #
    # You may use the command line option '-S' to verify your virtual host
    # configuration.

    #
    # Use name-based virtual hosting.
    #
    NameVirtualHost example.co.uk:80

    #
    # VirtualHost example:
    # Almost any Apache directive may go into a VirtualHost container.
    # The first VirtualHost section is used for all requests that do not
    # match a ServerName or ServerAlias in any <VirtualHost> block.
    #

    <VirtualHost homework.example.co.uk>
    ServerName homework.example.co.uk
    DocumentRoot C:/Users/path/to/files/a/
    </VirtualHost>

    <VirtualHost www.homework.example.co.uk>
    ServerName www.homework.example.co.uk
    DocumentRoot C:/Users/path/to/files/b/
    </VirtualHost>

    <VirtualHost www.mail.example.co.uk>
    ServerName www.mail.example.co.uk
    DocumentRoot C:/Users/path/to/files/c/
    </VirtualHost>

    <VirtualHost mail.example.co.uk>
    ServerName mail.example.co.uk
    DocumentRoot C:/Users/path/to/files/d/
    </VirtualHost>
