everity.com not responding
Hi all,
New to the forum
I have a few websites hosted with everity.com. The last couple of months has been a complete lack of communication and down time.
My websites are currently active but with no FTP access. I have submitted support tickets since the 12th March with no response. I've emailed and tried to call them. Even when I am calling from abroad (UK to USA), still no response. Normally James from everity handles all the queries or support but he seems to be long gone support@everity.com is automated. Tried sending to james@everity.com no response.
Is there any other member on here with everity.com and our you experiencing the same problems?
What is the best option to go forward? I was thinking to transfer my accounts but with no communication I dont think ill be able to get my money back. Then again, I should really cut my losses and just move on...
It is a shame as I did have great service from this provider for many years.

I'd certainly start making preparations to move, just in case. At worst it can never hurt to have a backup of all your data and to be prepared.
It's up to you when you decide to cut your losses, but 10 days without support would certainly cause me to move.
Best of luck.

I think at this point your best bet will be to simply pull your back-ups and move to another web host. This is the second post I have seen concerning your web-host and it looks like it might be an abandoned ship? Which means your services could be turned off any day.
Here is the other thread I found..

Either way, I wish you the best of luck!

Sounds like the smart thing to do. I'll start to make a backup now. Alot of my plugins on wordpress are outdatted and need to be updated asap.
I have to figure out a way to explain to my clients about the downtime that will be incurred when I move. With the outdatted code, I am a sitting duck waiting to be attacked. I'd rather be proactive, incur some downtime but in the long run (day or so) have some peace of mind.

If your site is still operational there should be very minimal downtime at all. If you are able to get a backup of your data, your new hosting provider should be able to use that to get you up and running. Then it's just a simple case of switching your nameservers (or DNS), waiting for propagation and you're all set.
I'd expect no downtime at all, personally.

You should be able to make the move with little to no downtimes. Are you still able to login to cpanel? If you are, login and make a full back-up of all your accounts (save the backup to your PC/Mac). Next, set-up your new web hosting account (with the provider of your choosing), then load your back-up.
Once you have your back-up loaded, simply redirect your nameservers to your new web hosting account and your done!
If done correctly, you should be able to avoid any downtime.

You can also ask your new host to migrate all accounts from your old provider. you can find some good offers here on WHT to choose from.
Also, do remember to ask through live chat or support ticket for account migration service..Wish you luck

@JulesR I like the sound of the echo, makes me feel assured of moving in a positive direction.
@ferngullygraphics, yes I am still able to login into cpanel.
I know I shouldnt experience any downtime with following that procedure. However, should I let my clients know that ill be transfering hosts and as a worse case scenario they could experience some downtime.
I'll traul through the hosting providers forum and pick a new hosting provider. It is a real shame moving. I've been with everity.com for over 6 years.

Definitely let your clients know, as issues with a new hosting provider may crop up (different configurations etc), so best to be forewarned.
Best of luck with your new provider.

any advice on a hosting provider?
One of my main clients is with a university that has around 15,000 students and about 1000 staff accessing the website.

Your best bet is to search the offers forum, or look around for reviews of other hosts on this forum.

Absolutely! Keep in mind that several thinks will change when moving to your new host such as your Shared IP, along with other basic mail configurations. It sounds to me like your current web host, so I am assuming that the move to a new web host can be seen as an upgrade? Also, is this a reseller account?

That is shame, but here are some companies that I have found on here to mostly get nothing but positive reviews..
Hawkhost, MDDHOsting, Downtownhost, stablehost..
Keep in mind I have not used any of the above providers (just an observation of what appears to be a solid service, based on client reviews I have read on WHT), so proceed at your own discretion. End of the day its about finding a web host that will work best for you. Hope that helps!
