Can I change the proftpd config on a managed server at Hetzner?

    Hi All,

I need to change the proftpd config on my managed server at Hetzner (MS7000) to allow FXP.
I always get "425 Unable to build data connection: Connection refused" when I try to copy to the server. I use Forklift.
To my knowledge "AllowForeignAddress on" needs to be added to the config file.

Does anyone have experience with this? Is it possible on a managed server or just on an unmanaged one? (I asked them to do this last Friday and it still doesn't work)
Any other suggestions to make it work?

    Thanks in advance guys!

    Best Wishes,
    Allanon

It more sounds like port 20, the UDP ftp-data port is not opened in the firewall.
If it is a managed server, you should redirect this question to them though.

I'm not sure if you are allowed to make changes to the server, if you have a managed server.
I could understand if they not support the changed configuration anymore. However, I'm not familiar with the way they offer 'managed' services.
