Newb Question: Pointing my domain name to my new VPS's IP address
So I just got a new VPS, I have a domain name I registered through FatCow (which in turn seems to have used FastDomain). I'm trying to get this domain to point at my new VPS webserver.
I know nothing about DNS, etc... Would appreciate any help
Just go to your domain registration account at FatCow and change your domain's nameserver that is VPS's IP address. And within 24-48 hours your domain will point to VPS's IP address.
with your new vps, you must have received ns1 and ns2 nameservers.
Login to your domain cpanel >> edit nameserver >> update new name server(received with vps) >> Save.
wait for 10-15 minutes then check your domain at whatsmydns.net and see your domain propagate throughout world
Hope this will work for you
