    Your Favorite Locations

    Hello WHT,

Sorry for the semi-repost, however I am very curious to know which locations WHT fonds most for data-centers. If you were to pick 3-5 of the above locations to offer Dedicated/VPS/Hosting offers, which ones would you choose? If time allows, please explain why you chose those particular locations. If there is a very convenient location (within the U.S.) which I haven't listed, please feel free to tell us about it.

    Thanks!

For our Ventrilo / TeamSpeak company the top 3 server locations appear to be:

    Dallas
    Chicago
    New York

If I was starting out and choosing 3 locations to launch with, I'd go with:

    Dallas
    Seattle / Los Angeles
    United Kingdom

We just launched our own hosting company (shared) and we've gone with Chicago. We're after our local market pretty hard but also wanted to appeal to our online crowd as well. Chicago seems to the perfect location for those two (for now anyways ).

Where are LA or Florida (Orlando/Miami) in your list? Those should have made it I think. Atlanta is another one.

For me Las Vegas. It is really a cool place and you will get all the essential things there.

I like Albany the best; however, I might be a little biased.

Im biased towards ATL. Yes, its usually more expensive to host here, but its practically the hub of the southeast. Most of my clients route through Atlanta so it made sense to setup shop here. Great pings too.

    Second choice would be Dallas.

We have been quite happy with New York and New Jersey location, as have lots of clients targetting Europe.
We were in Chicago and Dallas before.

You need another option, none of the above. I'd prefer a data centre in Sydney or Melbourne.

By Albany, N.Y. I assume you'd mean New York, NY, as Albany isn't really a prominent location for hosting (though it's not terrible).
