The Tech giant, well known for its commitment to robotic and consumer technology, has had to borrow four radiation proof robots from the US Military.

They had already used a US Air Force Drone to capture overhead video and photo, on Thursday
    The footage was very good

Yeah, they have been giving support since pretty much the start..

I just thought sending robots was quite unusual, but apparently japan drop most of their robot projects after a few years testing. For instance they had a radiation proof robot in 2003, but its not available now.

Interesting. They obtained the four robots from a U.S. military contractor.

It feels kinda weird, I thought Japan has more anti-radiation robots. My bad, I underestimated the good ol' America

I think that we need to help them with whatever they ask. That is global problem not only for Japan.

The precursor to the Japan Atomic Energy Agency came up with several nuke bots, including RaBot, a rolling, double-armed robot that was resistant to radiation and could open and close valves while operating under remote control.
An asset like that might have come in handy at Fukushima, where heroic workers are placing themselves at grave risk to avert a meltdown. But little of RaBot has been seen since 2001. Was it another shelved robot prototype?

    same linky as before

There is no doubt that Japan is Tech giant and well known for robotic and consumer technology but this time it is facing lots of problem one by one means earthquake, tsunami and now radiation spreading problem. So Japan is doing each thing that could help it to solve their problem. I think, to borrow four radiation proof robots from the US Military is part of this process.

It is best to help each other because it is for global benefits. That is why we have what we call United Nations. :-)

Japan itself cannot come up, they have damaged so badly, so they have to borrow from others, its a natural fact.

The damage they took was so bad that now one of the world's most independent countries now has to ask for help, the disaster was devastating to say the least.

Yea I did read it, I believe Japan is one of the richer countries in the world. But with such figure it would be a little bit too much for them to decline any help from the outside world.

Japan was not fully destroyed. Although it will take many years to recover, they will recover -- with the help of others, of course.
