I've decided to sell my small shared hosting business because of getting a new job. There are only 7 clients, all of which are on annual payments except for one. A reseller hosting account, custom website, and .com/.net/.org domain names are included in the sale. I'm not interested in selling the clients only.

Client 1: $89.50 per year, renews on 12/08/2011.
Client 2: $39.50 per year, renews on 12/07/2011.
Client 3: $49.50 per year, renews on 09/27/2011.
Client 4: $39.50 per year, renews on 06/27/2011.
Client 5: $39.50 per year, renews on 05/18/2011.
Client 6: $39.50 per year, renews on 03/26/2011.
Client 7: $5.95 per month

All clients are hosted on a $24.95/m reseller account at Hostgator, which includes:

- 50GB Disk Space
- 500GB Bandwidth
- Unlimited Domains
- WHMCS License
- cPanel

how long have all these clients been with you. what sort of bandwidth do they use, how many support tickets each month

on price. so annual income is only 368 a year but you want as a minimum bid effectively 1.5 times the annual revenue espcially when you consider that your costs a year are basically 300 which only leaves a profit of 68 a year.

of course profit will be increased by people moving the clients to their own infrastructure but ...

i am not sure this is that realistic reserve. i could be proven wrong though

The client with monthly payment has been with me since June 2010. One of the clients with annual payment has been with me 1 year this month, the others are approaching 1 year, based on their renewal date. There have only been 3 or 4 support tickets in the past year.

Client 1 uses the most bandwidth - 740 MB (Feb) and the most disk space - 581 MB.

Again, a complete website and three domain names are included in the sale. With some advertising, the business could easily grow.

You have mentioned "WHMCS License" but as far as i know Hostgator provides free WHMCS .


is it an own license ? have you paid for that ? is it possible to transfer the license ?
