EU Managed VPS - Only solid company, please
I'm looking for an EU alternative to Servint or Knownhost.
Please only managed and under 50 $ for 1 gb ram.
I will consider only solid and well known companies.
- what is better between lower ping and shorter traceroute?
I tested two servers from US, one has lower ping but longer tracert than the other.
- how high should be max ping? in Itali from US it is about 130, in europe it is about 50/60. Is this really important?
Shorter traceroute quicker responce time. Ping 40-60 is ok. 150 is from EU to USA. If you and your users are from EU look for EU VPS, no need to go to USA.
Look at 040Hosting.
Yes I don't need US one but they are cheaper
Shorter/longer traceroute does not matter. Some providers hide their topology under MPLS, some run pure IP. What matters most is lack of packet loss, delay (i.e. ping), lack of jiter (i.e. constant ping) and reliability.
I've used KnownSrv, they seem to work well, there are a bunch of established companies out there.
Solid, managed, 1GB and 50 dollars. You may pick 3 of them

Do you need windows or linux VPS? Any control panel?
VPS in Europe should have ping less than 50ms and website loading speed is significantly better.

Patrick doesn't do VPS.....at least he didn't last time we spoke.

Both are excellent....so take a good look at FutureHosting if that's the sort of standard you're aiming for.
They've recently radically upgraded all the UK servers and the difference is noticeable!
1+ for Futurehosting.com!
eurovps.com is a reputable managed VPS provider with servers in EU.
Ping and tracert only tells a small piece of a story. You can easily have fast ping speeds with crappy laggy sites. Look at the quality of hardware used by the company -- and consider not using those who mention nothing about it.
There's several great hosts in Europe. I use one.
You didn't told us about your other needs?
btw any solid host will also be having a solid price then
I'm looking for Linux VPS.
EuroVPS and Future Hosting are very interesting.
The first has prices a little higher but it has all included (managed, backup, cPanel), the second one has 20% max cpu usage and maybe not automated backup included (but I'm asking for).
100% correct, and we do not have any plans to go into this business either.
