    Point a Domain to a Sub-Domain using CNAME/DNS settings?

    Hi,

I have two domains and want to point one domain to a sub-domain of the other domain. I don't want to use Addon Domain option (from my cPanel) but I need to use something that I can change on name.com - to change the dns records like cname or whatever.

Lets say I have on my server

    domain.com
    sub.domain.com

    And my second domain domain2.com

what I want is that once user enter domain2.com, he will actually be surfing sub.domain.com (in the adress bar should appear domain2.com). I don't want a redirect, I want the URL etc still remains domain2.com.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

I don't think you can achieve that using DNS. If you want the domain to remain the same, I think you will need to setup Apache to do this work for you.

I'm not 100% sure about this, it's a been a few years since I had the same situation.

I agree with skullbox. The best way to do this is using Rewriting rules on Apache:

    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} domain2.com
    RewriteRule (.*) sub.domain.com/$1 [L]

URL on browser will always be domain2.com
