    Starting my new company

    Hello there,

I am looking to start my new web hosting company now I am older and have a little more experience with it.

I have a WHMCS License for the billing and a sorta business plan.

I just need a name and a good place to host for Shared, Reseller, VPS's and Dedicated servers.

    Many thanks,

This thread would probably get more results in the Running a Web Hosting Business forum.

Anyhow, just remember that you're only as good as your providers, so choose wisely and do your research. Good luck!

I would advise you to come up with a name for your brand by yourself.

And besides, until you have enough posts (5, or 10. Don't recall) you'll be unable to use the PM function anyhow.

A good name should be representative for the company you're trying to build. Otherwise, you can just go for yet another "animalname-host", or "celestialbody-host" etc.

In most cases, the name itself doesn't really matter all that much. Take Facebook or Google. They would have been just as well known even if they were named differently.

I agree. If anyone else had what they thought was a good name for web hosting company that wasn't taken yet, they'd register the domain to sell it or to keep for themselves at a later date.

A domain name is most important part of web hosting business, and it should be .COM

So choose carefully the domain which suits best for hosting industry/business.

I agree, it is best practice to use a .com .... I would make it less characters rather than more and make sure the end users can relate/remember it.

The name you choose should also be brandable.

It is the best option to search and come with a brand name your self.

If you are really serious in this business, register all possible TLDs specially of your country's with your decided name and park them all on same web site. This will give you a long term benefit and opportunity for better optimization.

    Best of luck!

The brand is one of the most important aspects of starting a web hosting provider, try not to follow the trends for hosting company brands, think of something new and exiting.. May take you a week, but i wont hear that there is not good brand-able domains left, i find one every 6 months or so

You can search for a good domain name through domain name forums and marketplaces, I am sure you will find many good domains.
