    Switching hosts... ssl

Hi. I've found a new host (props to Semoweb.com! They've been great!). Most of my sites are pretty basic, but one is a semi-busy ecom site with SSL. I'm just looking for tips on how to switch that one with minimal downtime and no data loss. I gather these are my steps:

    [on the old server]
    • put shop into "down for maintenance" mode
    • do a complete backup in cpanel

    [on the new server]
    • restore from backup
    • take out of maintenance mode

    [at the registrar]
    • change the nameservers
    • update the SSL

Its that last step I have really no clue about. I've always been a bit confused on SSL and I stumble through the renewal process every couple of years. It is a "Turbo" cert from godaddy.

    Thanks.

    "Update the SSL"

Basically, you'll need to reinstall the SSL cert on the new server just like you did the first time. However, instead of ordering a new one, you'd go to GoDaddy and 'reissue' it.

Yes that is the same thing, but before you do that, you will need to get a new key from the server you are moving to.

Yes that is correct, inside cpanel click on SSL/TLS Manager > Certificate Signing Requests > fill in the necessary info.
