    No.. colocation is the process of putting servers/equipment in a datacenter which would supply power, cooling, and connectivity.

    Server Colocation is good for individuals and small businesses who don't want to pay for the bandwidth that such popularity requires. You still pay a fee, but it isn't for bandwidth — it's a rental charge.

    For instance, if you are having a web hosting company and your customer want you to transfer large files from his previous host to yours, you will use colocation to transfer the files much faster and reliable. you will need to connect to the server present at the data center which you rent for this process.

    Just to point out:

    Fee's/Charges include the price of the Bandwidth trust me, you will pay for the Bandwidth you use.

    Constant monitoring, of power etc.
    Fall under the umbrella of collocation.
    in terms of type of collocation, either private or carrier neutral?

    In colocation your server put in secure lock, its more secure than dedicated server.
