    Notepad++, firebug, photoshop.

    I find that WYSISWYG produces an extreme amount of unneeded code and makes it an absolute pain to use.

    Any software would work well if you know how to play with it. In my case, Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 I'd say. Its easy to learn as compared to others and works just great.

    It actually depends on what you prefer. I use Photoshop CS4 to design and use Dreamweaver CS5 to code it

    Photoshop for designing and Dreamweaver for development. A great combination to create professional and premium templates.

    I use to recommend FrontPage, but now I recommend good ol' Notepad. Notepad for coding and Dreamweaver CS4 for design (no need to get te latest tools).

    I think fireworks is the best so far since it pretty much combines dreamweaver and photoshop together. Illustrator is a must IMO if you are making logos.

    Design it in Photoshop, code it in Notepad++ and correct it in Firebug...
