Is the database running? Is there a problem or corruption ? Try restarting the service first.

HostLunar, what exact error message are your clients seeing?
And, as RSanders mentioned, have you tried simply restarting the service and/or server?

also see if inodes or disk space limit have been exceeded if restarting is not solving your problem

Here are some things you can try. From the command line,

    df -h

are any of them 100%? Is your disk full?

    mysqlcheck -A --auto-repair -p

Check/repair any damage? You will need your mysql password.

Other than suggesting a few common things there isn't much any of us can do from a forum.

Do you have something like PHPmyAdmin?

If so check if you can browse the database, you will be able to see if the data is there etc...

Should help give an idea where the issues is.
