Are the tools within the WHM Security Center enough to secure your server / vps?

It's probably not enough, but those are the basic things that need to be there.

Install CSF firewall. That should help you out a lot .

Thanks Daniel, yeah I actually read this to one of the thread here.

Also, I'm looking to the VPS tutorial and found this this lengthy security and optimization procedure which I'm wondering if these are all covered by the WHM > Security Center.

I'll second installing CSF firewall (if it isn't already installed). It integrates with WHM so you can configure the settings within WHM. I installed it on both VPS I'm using with cPanel DNSONLY, and it showed up automagically in WHM after installation (at the very bottom).

It's not enough. I would recommend installing CSF, rootkit hunters, mod security rulesets and hardening PHP a bit.
