I need an affordable call routing service with multiple tiers/extensions. If someone picks up then fine but does anyone have some suggestions? I need to start cheap then upgrade as we move along. I know this may be an exhausted topic but I can't recall the exact name but now I need a service like that and this is h eplace to go for answers! That I knwo for a fact.

Thanks!!

Asterisk is the main free Pbx software with a variety of front ends on top of that. A number of vendors can provide managed Asterisk with the options you require.

Thanks but I'm looking for an online service to start out with less technical overhead/maintenance requirements. I'll design my own Asterix/SIP call center service when the time comes here in the office but I need something simple in the meantime. 2-3 tiers that rings various phones and goes to voicemail if no one answers (and ideally supports an after hours message).

Hello, we're going to give toktumi.com a go and if I have any trouble I'll let you know! Yes, the company is based in Delaware.

Ring Central sounded interesting with fax included but they charge per minute even for US/local calls. Toktumi offers unlimited domestic calling so we'll see how that goes.

I would seriously consider eVoice.com, it is what we use and it's fantastic. I believe they are currently doing a 6 month free trial as well!

We use Google Voice. Transfers to any number or cell or goes to voicemail. Plus the voicemail to text option is great.

I only use VOIP.

Below are the different systems I use and each have their pros and cons.
Google Voice, Skype, Ring Central

If you are in the hosting business ring central would probably be your best option.

I second this, we signed up for their 6 month free trial and it's been working wonders.

I've been with Ring Central for a week now. Already having some trouble with the call routing after business hours but that could be my own fault. I really haven't read into it yet.

Hello aplawson,

I would like to confirm what exactly you're looking to accomplish in terms of your communication requirements. Are you in search for a Virtual PBX(VPBX) or an actual Hosted PBX(HPBX) setup with handsets, an Auto Attendant, IVR etc.? If your planning on making outbound calls utilizing the PBX to display the company name, calling time etc...it sounds like your looking for a HPBX.

At the moment we're with Fonality www.fonality.com utilizing 5 Polycom SoundPoint IP 550 handsets. The good thing with all new PolyCom handsets, they use G.722 wideband codec (HD VOICE) which at the end of the day is only noticeable between interoffice calls. Also, with their backend control panel you can easily manage, revise and configure customized IVR/AA with multiple tiers/extensions.

I haven't heard of Toktumi but curious to know if they include handsets with their monthly service or are calls being routed to mobile devices such as SmartPhones, Home Phone etc? Or do they include the SoftPhone service (software) installed on your laptop/desktop. Let us know how Toktumi works out.
