Shared hosting clients for sale! 93 cPanel accounts

After running my hosting business for 10 years, I have some shared hosting clients for sale. I am a reseller, so all my clients are across several ResellerZoom WHM accounts. According to my WHMs, the number of accounts is as follows:

52 X Kilo ($3/mo or $36/yr): $1872/yr
22 X Mega ($5/mo or $51/yr): $1122/yr
11 X Giga ($10/mo or $102/yr): $1122/yr

4 X Basic ($80-100/yr): ~$320/yr
3 X reseller accounts at ~$40/mo: ~1440/yr

and also some domains at $9.99/yr

(Many of these are repeat customers, so "accounts" =/= clients.)

So potential total hosting income = $5876 per year, in general using the annual payment as default because I don't know how many pay per monthly vs annually.

This is if all of the accounts are active, which I'm not sure they are (read: it is definite a chunk are not). I haven't been ensuring everyone's credit card details are up to date, haven't been paying attention to payments that haven't gone through, etc. Basically I have been pretty neglectful of this business for the past year (RZ handles the support emails so the clients are all happy I swear) and am finally cutting it loose.

All my clients have been with me for at least a year, as I haven't been accepting new ones for at least that long. So if they're still around by this point, they'll probably stick around forever.

I use 2checkout and PayPal to accept payments, and they tell me that over the past year total income was $2714, so let's go with that. However in the past I used to go through every 3-6 months and ask people to update their details, remind them to pay, etc. That would usually result in a big jump in income. I haven't done that for over a year now, so that figure could easily go up.

Given the disorganisation and lack of clarity I'm not sure what would be a fair asking BIN, so at this point I'm open to suggestions and offers.

Oh if anyone has has any questions I'll be happy to answer them... or try to

I assume you do not have any billing information such as WHMCS data to look at do you? What all are included in the sale? Also, do you have a break down of payments that are to be made over the next few months by clients?

I don't use WHMCS, no. Basically all billing is handled by 2checkout and PayPal. Neither of those seem to have a function for listing upcoming payments. If I'm wrong, let me know.

Besides the accounts themselves, there's database of all client information. The 2CO account can be included - I can simply transfer administration of it to the new owner. The hosting business website itself, including the domain, and all accompanying data, can also potentially be included.

According to my own database, of the kilo/mega/giga accounts: 55 pay monthly, 28 pay annually.
Basics pay annually, resellers pay monthly.

I would really prefer to sell all the clients to one buyer, as then I can just pass on the WHM/2CO accounts and it will be less confusing for the clients. I want this to be painless and for them to continue to feel well treated given they generally have had a pretty long relationship with the business..

As this has been asked in PMs a few times:
Kilo package: 100MB space/10,000MB transfer
Mega package: 300MB/20,000MB
Giga package: 500MB/30,000MB

Can you please give a breakdown of your monthly / yearly costs? Where and in how many reseller accounts are they hosted?

It would probably be helpful to find out from ResellerZoom how many support tickets per month that these customers file, as most hosts will opt to do support themselves.

How long would you be willing to work with the buyer after the sale is completed to ensure that the clients are moved over to their new home properly? I as because based up on your description, it could take a couple months to bring everyone into a proper billing system, follow up on late payments, etc.

Hi all,

Thanks for your questions.

Checking transfer is a good idea! I'm in the middle of also checking nameservers and after that can give an exact number of active accounts. Other info I can give now:

Clients are on two reseller/WHM accounts. In February
WHM1: 4.31GB data transfer across 31 accounts (50 accounts used 0MB)
WHM2: 2.69GB data transfer across 5 accounts (2 accounts used 0MB)

I'll remove all the inactive accounts and after than can report account numbers and disk space usage more accurately.

As for my costs, I pay $21.55/mo for my main WHM account, and $8.96/mo for my second smaller one.

I then pay $25.95/mo total for three resold WHM accounts, for which I receive a total of $80/mo (so $54 profit minus paypal fees).

Thanks for your patience everyone, I'll be back with more info once I've worked it out.
