Hi folks,

As far as I researched OVH has unbeatable prices and good network, but there is a worry for me that I appreciate your clarification:

OVH does not accept Paypal. Instead they require credit card paiment, (along with bank transfer and check) and as I tried, the details on the payment form can not be different from registration details. So I am wondering if I order a dedi from OVH/Kimsufi, do they somehow disclose my personal data (e.g. by attaching the address to the public IP)?

I hope so, but as I've read about another provider (I think Hetzner), they attached the identity to the public IP and thus breach anonymity. Besides, there are an army of support staff there...

Buy OVH/kimsufi from a reseller who does accept paypal. It will cost more.

Well it is a solution but leads to other problems:

- some OVH resellers seem to be untrustworthy or even fake.
- Others that are suggested to be solid, have too much price overhead so that they almost undermine the affordability of OVH.

No, unless you order an RIPE IP Subnet, that will have your Abuse email and Contact Data, but if you only order Failover IPs (or use the Included IPs)
they will just show OVH as owner, and nothing about you.

Thanks Zhang, this is a relief to hear that. What about the staff? Are they exposed to the personal data?

Of course they are, how else could they do support or similar...
But dont be afraid. they barely speak any english (if any at all).
Be prepared to use french when you have a complicated technical problem.
