How would I go about hosting a Image Hosting site, For example like ImageShack or TinyPic where someone would upload a image and then be giving 3 types of urls, one for vb forum , BBforum and a regular link to the image. Could I do this on a basic shared hosting package as a start up?

Its possible, however depending on how many users/traffic you attract, you wont be able to stay on a shared web hosting plan for long. More importantly you are going to want to sit down with a programmer/developer to go over the logistics.

We should probably also point out that with a shared hosting account, they'll likely move fast to suspend you too if any of your hosted pics violate their AUP (depending on how much risk it puts all their other accounts in).

I'm seeing most sub-$10/mo accounts prohibit public photo sharing sites in their TOS.
It's the rare budget provider these days that just says: Stay legal, don't abuse our servers and we're cool. There are some, but not many.

Yes, you can start off on shared hosting, although while time passes, you might need to upgrade to a VPS or Dedicated Server.

yep, just have fun when someone decides to hotlink a copyrighted image to a porn torrent or something and you blow your bw quota in an hour or upload very very bad things

As others said you should be fine hosting an image hosting script with a quality shared host. If your website grows then you can always upgrade to a higher plan or even upgrade to a vps or a dedicated server.
