Drafting a Terms of Service Agreement?
Apologies in advance if I am posting in the wrong forum - I wasn't sure where else to ask this question, and I am hoping that some of the members here may have had some experience with this.
I've already contacted a few lawyers about this, and none of them knew much about agreements for internet companies - or where to send me.
I'm wondering if anyone here has any recommendations for lawyers / law firms in Canada (we are based in Canada) who have experience with this sort of thing?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Can't help you on the lawyer finding front (I know they will charge alot but it may be worth it in the long run)! When I was setting up similar conditions once, someone recommended this book:
Electronic Commerce: Ronald Mann
I hope it may be of some use to you!
All the best!
Travis, ask your accountant if its a larger firm like KPMG. They might have lawyer recommendations for you since their net is wider.
As for TOS, if you plan on making it yourself first and then getting a lawyer-made one later, at minimum be sure to put in a clause allowing you to change the terms (with or without) notice.
