Servers with IPv6 support
I had nailed my list down to Softlayer & limestone networks, both are really good providers. Softlayer offers free IPv6 but its a litle on the expensive side. OTOH, limestone networks is cheaper but says that I need to pay $25/month for IPv6 because they only offer it as a part of their IP pooling feature (which I don't need).
Can you guys suggest good companies with IPv6 support?
PS. I'm surprised how many providers are completely oblivious to offering IPv6 as the IPv4 pool will be significantly drained by Aug this year (6 months to go). Regardless of customer adoption, service providers need to be the first one to be offering IPv6, so people like us can test our IPv6 connectivity.

Most are not affordable though, or their network is not fast enough(latency wise).

WholeSaleInternet out of Kansas City is nice (and geographically you can't get more central US than them) and they will do IPv6 for free on request. Although since you're looking at Limestone and Softlayer they might be a bit too budget for what you are after depending on what you're doing .

I've been thinking about wholesaleinternet, the pings are pretty quick. The only problem is that I tried dialing the phone number to talk to a rep about lack of Win2008 server OS, but no one answered the phone. How quick is their support? Their pricing is really good too, not sure why they aren't offering Windows 2008 server as an option. Any rep from wholesaleinternet here?

Hi Need4Speed,
I'm just curious, what's your latency to our border?

There are larger providers that aren't IPv6 ready? We've been 100% IPv6 ready for about two years now. Can't believe anyone is that far behind, especially with IANA being entirely out of IPv4 space. The time for IPv6 is NOW.

WII-Aaron, their founder and CTO, is on these boards regularly as a community guide.
I can't speak to their phone support as I prefer e-mail but their support ticket response times have always been excellent for us.
Their Sales and Billing departments are lacking which makes them look much worse than they really are on first impressions (ordering a new server from them can be painful if it's custom) but their Tech support team is superb and responds quickly when it countsLast edited by ramnet; 02-16-2011 at 12:31 AM.

Yeah, I'm amazed at how poor software support still is... I am still AMAZED cPanel doesn't support IPv6 yet. I just don't understand the reason for the delay, if you're properly coded, going from IPv4 to IPv6 shouldn't be hard, it is the same CIDR notation, etc.

If CPanel has real IPv6 support by 2013, I'll be shocked. Fortunately, very basic Apache IPv6 support is relatively trivial to hack into CPanel using the includes files. Just a PITA. A lot of MX software doesn't support IPv6 yet either.
Sorry to hijack OP's thread. :-)
